IACT tour: 2nd day

Wehehe...today is the second day of the IACT Exploration workshop. Did some animation stuff at the comp lab...really cool. Then had KFC for lunch. Then later we went to Sin Chew Jit Poh factory and see how they make the news: from typing to editing to the printing process itself. It was interesting to find out, but could do without the smell. It almost made me puke. Here's what we had for the last two days:

18th December
*Ice breaking session by student council
*Marketing Communication Workshop
-Miss May sort of gave examples of people's perception on colours, like how red is the considered a sign of warning or sexiness)
*Mass Communication Workshop
-Mr. Tan thought how the media affects people and their lifestyles... how we tend to think of things the way the media portrays it. Exp, the media portrays slim, flawless skinned people as sexy and beautiful, and so we think that way as well.
*Lunch= Domino's pizza =)
*A tour around IACT
-found out the college is really small, but feedbacks from students suggest that although it is small, but it's a really good college.
*Graphic Design Workshop
-learnt how to make our own logos with Adobe CS.
*Intro to broadcasting by .dot Video Club (really cool club)
-we saw some examples of ads and gave comments on them.
*Broadcasting Workshop
-the cikgu there gave us more insight on the broadcasting industry (and I found out really good Broadcasters get lots of $$$ haha)

19th December
*"Welcome to the Advertising World" by CREACTIVE (another cool club that I'm looking forward to join)
-my team had to act out an ad. We had to advertise this really capalang looking comb (those combs you can get for 30 cents and usually find at the your dad's back pocket). Got 3rd prize aka 2nd last prize...but ok ler...20 minutes to discuss only...
*Public Relations Workshop
-Miss Su told us more on what PR people do. Turns out their work banyak stresssss...and it's not normally as glamorous as we see on the tv.
*Creative Multimedia Workshop
-made our own animation of a face rolling here and there.
*Lunch= KFC hehee
*Field visit to Sin Chew Media
*Creative Writing
-we hade to create a poem containing a few words that had to be included in it.


So that sorts of wraps it up. TTFN
